Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A believer to another believer is like a building whose parts reinforce one another." And he interlaced his fingers. Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The hadith presents an analogy that urges the believer to support and assist his fellow believer. A believer cannot manage the affairs of his worldly life and religion alone; he must have the support and cooperation of his fellow believer; otherwise, he will be unable to bear his responsibilities and the order of his worldly and spiritual affairs will be disrupted. Islam is a communal religion, and the individual is a brick in the structure of society; he must respect the rights of others as he would like his own rights to be respected.
