عَنْ أنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: لَمَّا ثَقُلَ النَّبيُّ صلّى اللّهُ عليه وسلّم جَعَلَ يَتَغَشَّاهُ الْكَرْبُ، فَقَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهَا: وَاكَربَ أَبَتَاهُ، فَقَالَ: «لَيْسَ عَلَى أَبِيكِ كَرْبٌ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ»، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ، قَالَتْ: يَا أَبَتَاه أَجَابَ رَبًّا دَعَاه، يَا أَبَتَاه جَنَّةُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ مَأْوَاه، يَا أَبَتَاه إِلَى جبْرِيلَ نَنْعَاهُ، فَلَمَّا دُفِنَ قَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهَا: أَطَابَتْ أنْفُسُكُمْ أَنْ تَحْثُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللّهِ صلّى اللّهُ عليه وسلّم التُّرَابَ؟. رواه البخاري.
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was in his final illness, he was overcome with agony. Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "How great is my father's suffering!" He said: "Your father will have no more suffering after today." When he passed away, she said: "O my father! He answered the call of his Lord! O my father, the Garden of al-Firdaws is his abode! O my father, to Jibril (Gabriel) we announce his passing!" And when he was buried, Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "How could your hearts allow you to cast earth upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" Narrated by al-Bukhari.

الكرب: الحُزن والغمّ. مأواه: المأوى: المنزِل. ننعاه: إذاعة موته، وندبه. أن تحثوا: أن ترموا.
"Agony" (al-karb): grief and distress. "His abode" (ma'wahu): his dwelling place. "We announce his passing" (nan'ahu): the proclamation of his death and lamenting him. "To cast earth" (an tahthu): to throw.

للصبر منزلة عالية، تُنال بامتحان واختبار من اللّه عزّ وجلّ. رسول اللّه صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم كغيره من البشر؛ يمرض ويجوع ويعطش ويبرد ويتألم ويموت. يجوز الحزن والتوجّع عند فراق الميت من غير اعتراض على قدر اللّه عزّ وجلّ.
Patience holds a lofty station, attained through trial and testing from Allah the Almighty. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is like other human beings; he falls ill, hungers, thirsts, feels cold, suffers pain, and dies. It is permissible to grieve and express sorrow upon the departure of the deceased, without objecting to the decree of Allah the Almighty.
