عَنْ أبي هَرَيرَةَ رَضي اللّهُ عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ: «يَقولُ اللّهُ تَعَالَى: مَا لِعَبْدِي المُؤْمِنِ عِنْدِي جَزَاءٌ إِذَا قَبَضْتُ صَفِيَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ احْتَسَبهُ إِلَّا الجَنَّة» رواه البخاري.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah the Most High says: 'My believing servant has no reward with Me, if I take away his beloved one from the people of this world and he then bears it with patience and seeks reward, except Paradise.'" Narrated by al-Bukhari.

صفيَّه: حَبيبه، لأنه يُصافيه وُدّه ويُخْلصُه محبته. ثم احتسبه: بأن يدّخر أجره عند اللّه تعالى، وذلك بالصبر والتسليم.
"His beloved one" (safiyyahu): his dear one, because he shares with him pure love and sincere affection. "Bears it with patience and seeks reward" (ihtasabahu): he stores up his reward with Allah the Most High by being patient and submitting to the decree.

أن من المصائب التي تنزل بالإنسان فقدان أحبته. أن الكافر مهما عمل من عمل صالح فليس له شيء في الآخرة، لعدم الإيمان. احتساب المصيبة والصبر عليها علامة من علامات كمال الإيمان، أمّا الجزع والسخط فيَدُلّان على ضعف الإيمان.
Among the calamities that befall a person is the loss of his loved ones. A disbeliever, no matter what good deeds he performs, has nothing in the Hereafter due to his lack of faith. Bearing a calamity with patience and seeking reward is a sign of complete faith, while despair and discontent indicate weak faith.
