عنْ مُعاذ بْنِ أَنَسٍ رضي اللّهُ عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «مَنْ كظَمَ غيظًا، وهُو قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يُنْفِذَهُ، دَعَاهُ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ وتَعالَى عَلَى رُؤُوسِ الْخلائقِ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ مَا شَاءَ» رواه أَبُو داوُدَ، والتِّرْمِذيُّ وقال: حديثٌ حسنٌ.
Mu'adh ibn Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever suppresses his anger when he is able to act upon it, Allah, the Glorified and Exalted, will call him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection and let him choose whichever of the maidens of Paradise (Hur al-'Ayn) he wishes." Narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: It is a good (hasan) hadith.
الشرح · explanation
كَظَم غيظًا: تجرَّعَ الغيظ واحتملَ سببَه وصبرَ عليه. الحُور العِين : الحور جمع الحوراء، وهي شديدة البياض في العين وشديدة السواد في المقلة. العِين: جمع العيناء، وهي واسعة العين، والمراد هنا الحِسان من النساء.
Kadhama ghayzan: he swallowed the anger, bore its cause, and was patient with it. Al-Hur al-'Ayn: Al-Hur is the plural of Hawra', a woman with intensely white eyes and deeply black pupils. Al-'Ayn is the plural of 'Ayna', meaning wide-eyed; here it refers to the beautiful women of Paradise.

الحثّ على كظم الغيظ. تزداد قيمة العفو كلّما ازدادت القدرة على الانتصاف (أخذ الحق). قوة الإرادة وقوة الشخصية تظهران في المواقف الحرجة المثيرة للغضب والهيجان، فيملك الإنسان زمام غضبه ويكظم غيظه فيسمو ويرتفع.
Encouragement to suppress anger. The value of pardon increases the greater one's ability to take retribution. Strength of will and strength of character are manifested in critical moments that provoke anger and agitation, when a person controls his anger and suppresses his rage, thereby elevating himself.
