On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever says — meaning when he leaves his house — 'In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor strength except with Allah,' it will be said to him: 'You have been guided, sufficed, and protected,' and the devil will turn away from him." Narrated by Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, and others. Al-Tirmidhi said: It is a hasan hadith. - Abu Dawud added: "The devil then says to another devil: 'How can you deal with a man who has been guided, sufficed, and protected?'"
"There is no power nor strength except with Allah": Meaning there is no transition from disobedience, nor ability to perform obedience, except by the help of Allah the Most High. "Protected" (wuqita): You have been safeguarded from every evil. "Sufficed" (kufita): Someone else has taken care of his affairs on his behalf. "Turned away from him" (tanahha): Moved away from his direction and distanced himself from his path.
