عنْ أنَسٍ رضي اللّهُ عنه قال: كَان أخَوَانِ عَلَى عهْدِ النبيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم، وكَانَ أَحَدُهُما يأْتِي النبيَّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم، والآخَرُ يحْتَرِفُ، فَشَكَا الْمُحْتَرِفُ أخَاهُ للنبيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم فقال: «لَعلَّكَ تُرْزَقُ بِهِ» رواه التِّرْمذيُّ بإسناد صحيح على شرط مسلمٍ.
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: There were two brothers during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). One of them used to attend the Prophet's gatherings (peace be upon him), while the other would earn a livelihood. The working brother complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about his brother, so the Prophet said: "Perhaps you are granted provision because of him." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi with an authentic chain meeting the conditions of Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
يأتي النبيّ صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم: أي يلازمه ليتلقّى من علومه ويتعلم أحكام الدِّين. يحْترِف: يَكْتَسِبُ. فشكا: أي الأخ الذي يسعى في الكسب إلى النبيّ صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم أخاه في ترك الاكتساب. تُرزق به: أي بسببه.
"Used to attend the Prophet (peace be upon him)": Meaning he would stay close to him to learn from his knowledge and study the rulings of the religion. "Earn a livelihood" (yahtarif): To work and earn. "Complained": The brother who worked for a living complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about his brother's abandonment of work. "You are granted provision because of him": That is, on account of him.

أنّ من انقطع لطلب العلم والتفقّه في أحكام الدين، لحفظ شريعة اللّه، فإن اللّه يهيِّئ له من يقوم بشؤونه ويكفيه حاجاته. الترغيب في مساعدة أهل العلم وطلابه. قد يرزق الإنسان بسبب من يُعيلهم.
Whoever devotes himself to seeking knowledge and studying the rulings of the religion in order to preserve the law of Allah, Allah will provide for him someone to take care of his needs and affairs. Encouragement to support scholars and students of knowledge. A person may be granted provision on account of those whom he supports.
