عن جابرٍ رضي اللّهُ عنه قال: قال رجلٌ للنَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ يومَ أُحُدٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ إنْ قُتِلْتُ فأَينَ أَنَا؟ قالَ: «في الْجَنَّةِ» فألْقى تَمَراتٍ كُنَّ في يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قاتلَ حتَّى قُتلَ. متفقٌ عليه.
On the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: A man said to the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Day of Uhud: "Tell me, if I am killed, where will I be?" He said: "In Paradise." So the man threw away the dates that were in his hand and fought until he was killed. Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

الحثُّ على المسارعةِ لفعلِ الخيرات. أن جزاء من قُتل في سبيل اللّه مخلصًا أنْ يُدخله اللّهُ الجَنَّة. استحباب أنْ يَسأل الإنسان عمَّا لا يعلم. من صَدَقَ اللّهَ في طلبِ الشهادةِ صدقَ اللّهُ معه وأنالَهُ إِيَّاها.
Encouragement to hasten toward performing good deeds. The reward of whoever is killed in the cause of Allah with sincerity is that Allah will admit him to Paradise. The recommendation of asking about what one does not know. Whoever is truthful with Allah in seeking martyrdom, Allah will be truthful with him and grant it to him.
