عن أَبي هريرة رضي اللّه عنه قال: قال رسول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «كُلُّ سُلامى مِنَ النَّاسِ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةٌ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ تَطْلُعُ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ؛ تَعْدِلُ بين الاثْنَيْنِ صَدقَةٌ، وَتُعِينُ الرَّجُلَ فِي دَابَّتِهِ فَتحْمِلُهُ عَلَيْهَا، أَوْ تَرْفَعُ لَهُ عَلَيْهَا مَتَاعَهُ صَدقَةٌ، وَالْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ صدقَةٌ، وبكُلِّ خَطْوَةٍ تَمْشِيهَا إِلَى الصَّلاةِ صَدقَةٌ، وَتُمِيطُ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ صَدَقَةٌ» متفق عليه.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Every joint of a person owes a charity every day on which the sun rises: to judge justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity; every step you take toward the prayer is a charity; and removing a harmful object from the road is a charity." كلُّ سُلامَى: كل مَفصِل. تعدِل: تفصِل بين متخاصمَين وتحكم بينهما بالعدل. متاعَه: ما ينتفع به من طعام ولباس... الكلمة الطيِّبة: التي تَسُرُّ السامع وتُؤَلِّف القلوب. تُميط الأذى: تُزيل كل ما يُؤذي المارَّة.
"Every joint" (sulāma): every bone/joint of the body. "To judge justly" (taʿdil): to arbitrate between two disputants and decide between them fairly. "Belongings" (matāʿ): anything one benefits from, such as food and clothing. "A good word": a word that pleases the hearer and brings hearts together. "Removes the harm": removes anything that would harm passers-by.

هذا الحديث قاعدة من قواعد الدين الحنيف؛ إذ يبيـِّن أن الأعمال الصالحة لا تقتصر على الإنسان نفسه، بل كل عمل فيه نصح للناس فيه أجر. الحث على الإصلاح بين الناس بالعدل ومعاملتهم بالأخلاق الكريمة. فضل المحافظة على صلاة الجماعة في المسجد. أن هذه الأعمال لها من الأجر والثواب ما يساوي أجر الصدقة لمن عجز عنها ومثلها لمن جمع بينها وهو قادر عليها. التقرب إلى اللّه تعالى بأنواع الطاعات ومختلف المبرّات مع الشكر على نِعمه. للبدن زكاة، كما أن للمال زكاة.
This hadith is a foundational principle of the upright religion; it shows that righteous deeds are not confined to benefiting oneself — every deed that offers counsel to people carries reward. It urges making peace between people justly and treating them with noble manners. The virtue of diligence in attending congregational prayer in the mosque. These acts carry reward equal to that of charity for one unable to give, and even greater for one who combines them while capable. Drawing near to Allah through various acts of obedience and works of goodness while giving thanks for His blessings. Just as wealth has its zakat, so too does the body.
