عن أُسامَةَ بنِ زيد رضي اللّهُ عنهما عن النبيّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «ما تركْتُ بعْدِي فِتْنَةً هِي أَضَرُّ عَلَى الرِّجالِ مِنَ النِّسَاء» متفقٌ عليه.
Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them) reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said, "I have not left behind after me any trial more harmful to men than women." [Agreed upon]

فتنةٌ: ابتلاءٌ واختبارٌ.
"Fitnah": trial and test.

أن الفتنة بالنساء أشدّ من الفتنة بغيرهن. فتنة النساء خطر على الرجل إذ كثيرًا ما يحمله الميل إليهن إلى مخالفة الشرع والوقوع في المعصية. وجوب حذر الرجال من هذه الفتن بالبعد عن كل ما يقوده إلى الافتتان بالنساء.
The trial of women is more severe than any other trial. The trial of women is a danger to a man, for often his inclination toward them leads him to contravene the Shariah and fall into sin. It is obligatory for men to be on guard against these trials by distancing themselves from everything that leads to being drawn into trial through women.
