عن ابنِ عمرَ وعائشةَ رضي اللّه عنهما قَالا: قال رسولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالجَارِ حتَّى ظَنَنتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ» متفقٌ عليه.
Ibn ʿUmar and ʿAishah (may Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Gabriel kept enjoining me about the neighbor until I thought he would make him an heir." [Agreed upon]

ظننت أنّه سيورثه: ترقّبتُ أن يأتيَني الوحي بجعل الجوار سببًا للإرث.
"I thought he would make him an heir": I expected revelation to come making neighborliness a cause for inheritance.
