عن أبي هريرة رضي اللّه عنه قال: قال رسول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «يَا نِسَاءَ المُسلِمَاتِ لا تَحْقِرَنَّ جارَةٌ لجارتِهَا وَلَوْ فِرْسِنَ شَاةٍ» متفقٌ عليه. لا تَحقِرنَّ: اي لا تَمتنِع من الصدقة وإن كان شيئًا يسيرًا، فهو خير من لا شيء.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "O Muslim women, let no neighbor belittle the gift of her neighbor, even if it be a sheep's hoof." [Agreed upon] "Let her not belittle": meaning, let her not refrain from charity even if it is a small thing, for it is better than nothing.
الشرح · explanation
فِرسِن: هو من البَعير كالحافر في الفَرس، عَظم قليل اللَّحم.
"Firsin": in the camel, like the hoof of a horse — a bone with little meat on it.

الحثّ على الإهداء والصدقة بما تيسّر مهما كان قليلًا، فإنه خير، ينبغي أن يُحمد فاعله ويُشكر. الهدية وإن كانت قليلة في نظر صاحبها لكنها كبيرة الأجر عند الله تعالى وكبيرة النفع عند آخذها. النهي عن الاحتِقار؛ فلا تحتقر المُعطِية هديتها لجارتها، ولا تحتقر المُهدَى إليها الهدية حتى وإن كانت بسيطة.
Encouragement to give gifts and charity with whatever is possible, even if small, for it is good — and its doer deserves praise and gratitude. A gift, though little in the eyes of its giver, carries great reward with Allah the Exalted and great benefit to its recipient. Prohibition of contempt: the giver should not belittle her gift to her neighbor, nor should the recipient belittle the gift, even if simple.
