عَنْ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ جُبَيْرِ بنِ مُطْعِمٍ رضيَ اللهُ عنهُ أَنّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «لا يَدْخُلُ الجَنَّةَ قَاطِعٌ» قالَ سفيان في روايته: يَعْني: قَاطِعَ رَحِم. متفقٌ عليه
Abu Muhammad Jubayr ibn Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who severs will not enter Paradise." Sufyan said in his narration: meaning, the one who severs the ties of kinship. [Agreed upon]

A warning against severing the ties of kinship and a stern admonition against it. The one who severs the ties of kinship may not enter Paradise at the outset, or may never enter it if he deems such severance lawful while knowing it to be forbidden.
