Riyad Al Salihin

A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was never as jealous of any of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as I was of Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), though I never saw her. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would mention her often, and at times he would slaughter a sheep, cut it into portions, and then send it to the friends of Khadijah. Sometimes I would say to him, "It is as though there was no woman in the world but Khadijah!" and he would reply: "Indeed she was such and such, and I had children by her." [Agreed upon] In another narration: He would slaughter a sheep and then send from it to her close friends as much as would suffice them. [al-Bukhari] In another narration: When he slaughtered a sheep he would say: "Send some of it to the friends of Khadijah." [Muslim] * In another narration she said: Halah bint Khuwaylid, the sister of Khadijah, sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was reminded of the way Khadijah used to seek permission, so he was gladdened by it and said: "O Allah, it is Halah bint Khuwaylid!" [Reported by al-Bukhari]
