عن أبي هريرةَ رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «مَنْ عَادَ مَريضًا أَوْ زَارَ أَخًا له في اللهِ، نَادَاهُ مُنَادٍ بِأَنْ طِبْتَ، وطَابَ ممْشَاكَ، وَتَبَوَّأْتَ مِنَ الجنَّةِ منْزِلًا» رواه الترمذي وقال: حديثٌ حسنٌ، وفي بعض النسخ: حسنٌ غريبٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever visits a sick person or visits a brother of his for the sake of Allah, a caller calls out to him: 'May you be good, and may your walking be good, and may you take up a dwelling in Paradise.'" Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a sound (hasan) hadith; and in some copies: hasan gharib.
الشرح · explanation
عَادَ مَريضًا: زاره مخْلِصًا في ذلك لله. طبتَ: دعاءٌ له، أي انشرحت بما لك عند الله تعالى من جزيل الأجر، أو طهرت من الذنوب بغفرانه لك. طاب ممشاك: أي عَظُمَ ثوابه. تَبَوَّأْتَ: تبوَّأ المكان شغله وتوطَّنه.
"Visits a sick person": visits him sincerely for the sake of Allah in doing so. "May you be good": a supplication for him, that is, may you be gladdened by the abundant reward you have with Allah, Exalted is He, or may you be purified of sins through His forgiveness of you. "May your walking be good": that is, may its reward be great. "You take up a dwelling": to take up a place is to occupy it and settle in it.
