عن أبي هريرةَ رضيَ اللهُ عنه عن النبيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أَخًا لَهُ في قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى، فَأَرْصَد اللهُ لَهُ عَلَى مَدْرَجتِهِ مَلَكاً» وذكر الحديث إلى قوله: «إِن اللهَ قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ» رواه مسلم.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A man set out to visit a brother of his in another village, so Allah appointed an angel to wait for him on his way." He then recounted the hadith up to His saying: "Indeed Allah has loved you as you have loved him for His sake." [Muslim]

مدرجته: طريقه. أَرْصد: أَقعَد، يقال أرصده إِذَا وكَّلَهُ بِحِفْظِه.
"On his way" (madrajatihi): his road. "Appointed" (arsada): set in place; it is said "arsadahu" when he assigns someone to guard it.

عظيم فضل الحبِّ والتزاور في الله تعالى. المحبّة في الله يجب ألّا ترتبط بالمصالح الدنيوية، فلا يزيد الحبّ في الله بزيادة المصلحة ولا ينقص بزوالها، بل يكون مرتبطًا بفعل الطاعات وترك المعاصي. الآدميّ يمكن أن يرى الملَك ويكلّمه. أنّ الحب في الله من أسباب حبّ الله لعبده. أنّ الحب في الله لابد أن يظهر أثره من التزاور والتناصح والتعاون على البرّ والتقوى.
The immense virtue of loving and visiting one another for the sake of Allah, the Exalted. Love for the sake of Allah must not be tied to worldly interests; such love neither increases when a benefit increases nor decreases when it disappears. Rather, it is bound to the performance of acts of obedience and the avoidance of sins. A human being can see an angel and speak with him. Loving for the sake of Allah is among the causes of Allah's love for His servant. Love for the sake of Allah must show its effect through mutual visiting, mutual counsel, and cooperation in righteousness and piety.
