Abu Karimah al-Miqdad ibn Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "When a man loves his brother, let him inform him that he loves him." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: A good hadith (hasan).

It is recommended for a Muslim to inform the one he loves of his love for him. The wisdom behind a man informing his brother of his love for him is so that affection, connection, mutual visiting, mutual counsel, and cooperation may arise between them; thereby love increases and the bonds of brotherhood are strengthened. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about the matter of mutual brotherhood, which indicates the virtue of brotherhood for the sake of Allah and its great standing.
