عن سمُرةَ بنِ جُنْدبٍ رضي الله عنه: أَن نبيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «مِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَأْخُذُهُ النَّارُ إِلى كَعْبَيْهِ، ومِنْهُمْ منْ تأْخُذُهُ إِلى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَمِنْهُمْ منْ تَأْخُذُهُ إِلى حُجْزتِهِ، وِمِنْهُمْ منْ تَأْخُذُهُ إِلى تَرْقُوَتِهِ» رواه مسلم.
Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among them is he whom the Fire reaches up to his ankles, and among them is he whom it reaches up to his knees, and among them is he whom it reaches up to his waist, and among them is he whom it reaches up to his collarbone." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
منهم: أي من أهل النار. كعْبَيه: الكعب هو العظم الناتئ عند مفصل الساق مع القدم. حُجْزَته: مَعْقِدُ الإِزارِ تحْتَ السُّرَّةِ. ترْقُوَته: هِي العظْمُ الذِي عِندَ ثُغْرةِ النَّحْر.
"Among them": that is, among the people of the Fire. "His ankles": the ankle is the protruding bone at the joint of the shin with the foot. "His waist": the place where the lower garment is tied, below the navel. "His collarbone": it is the bone at the pit of the throat.
