عن ابنِ عمرَ رضيَ اللهُ عنهما: أنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم، قالَ: «يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ العَالمِينَ حَتَّى يَغِيبَ أَحَدُهُمْ في رَشْحِهِ إِلى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْه» متفقٌ عليه.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds until one of them sinks in his sweat up to the middle of his ears." Agreed upon.
الشرح · explanation
يقوم النّاس: أي يُبعثون من قبورهم للحساب. يغيب أحدهم في رشحه: أي يغرق في عَرقه الذي يخرج منه من شدّة الهول.
"The people will stand": that is, they will be resurrected from their graves for the reckoning. "One of them sinks in his sweat": that is, he drowns in the sweat that comes out of him from the intensity of the terror.

هول الموقف يوم القيامة وشدّته عند وقوف النّاس جميعا بين يديه سبحانه للحساب. يغرق الناس في العرق يوم القيامة على قدر أعمالهم. عظمة قدرة الله تعالى؛ حيث يقف النّاس كلهم محشورين ومع ذا يختلف حساب كل واحد منهم على قدر عمله، فهذا يغرق في عرقه وذاك عرقه إلى أذنه ولا يصل لهذا شيء من عرق ذاك.
The terror of the station of the Day of Resurrection and its severity when all the people stand before Him, Glorified is He, for the reckoning. People will drown in sweat on the Day of Resurrection according to the measure of their deeds. The greatness of Allah's power; for all the people stand gathered together, and yet the reckoning of each one of them differs according to the measure of his deeds, so that this one drowns in his sweat, that one's sweat reaches up to his ear, and none of that one's sweat reaches this one.
