عن أبي هريرةَ رضيَ اللهُ عنه، قال: قرأَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا [الزلزلة: ٤] ثم قالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا أَخَبَارُهَا؟» قالوا: اللهُ ورَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قالَ: «فَإِنَّ أَخْبَارَها: أَنْ تَشْهَدَ عَلَى كُلِّ عَبْدٍ أَوْ أَمَةٍ بِمَا عَمِلَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا، تَقُولُ: عَمِلْتَ كَذَا وكَذَا في يَوْمِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فهَذِهِ أَخْبَارُهَا» رواه التِّرْمِذِي وقال: حديثٌ حسنٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited, "On that Day it will report its news" [al-Zalzalah: 4], then he said, "Do you know what its news is?" They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said, "Indeed its news is that it will bear witness against every male and female servant concerning what they did upon its surface, saying: You did such and such on such and such a day. So this is its news." [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: A sound (hasan) hadith]

عبد أو أمة: أي رجل أو امرأة، والمقصود: تشهد على كل الخلق.
"Male or female servant" ('abd aw amah): that is, a man or a woman; the meaning is that it will bear witness against all of creation.

The power of Allah, Exalted is He, in causing inanimate matter to speak, since the earth will bear witness to what took place upon it. A severe warning against committing sins, even if a person is out of sight, for the earth is a witness and Allah is the Judge. The Sunnah explains the Noble Qur'an. The good manners of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
