عن أبي هريرةَ رضيَ اللهُ عنه قال: قالَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «مَنْ خَافَ أَدْلَجَ، وَمَنْ أَدْلَجَ بَلَغَ المَنْزِلَ، أَلا إِنَّ سِلْعَةَ اللهِ غَاليةٌ، أَلا إِنَّ سِلْعَةَ اللهِ الجَنَّةُ» رواه الترمذي وقال: حديثٌ حسنٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever fears sets out in the early part of the night, and whoever sets out early reaches his destination. Truly, the merchandise of Allah is precious; truly, the merchandise of Allah is Paradise." [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: A sound (hasan) hadith]
الشرح · explanation
من خاف: أي إغارة العدوّ وقت السحر. أَدْلَجَ: أي سَارَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ. والمراد منه التَّشْمِيرُ في الطَّاعَة. سلعة الله: أي ما عرضه الله لعباده كي ينالوه بأعمالهم وطاعتهم فضلا منه وكرما. غالية: رفيعة القيمة.
"Whoever fears": that is, fears an enemy's raid at the time before dawn. "Sets out in the early part of the night" (adlaja): that is, he travels from the beginning of the night; what is intended by it is diligence in obedience. "The merchandise of Allah": that which Allah has offered to His servants so that they may attain it through their deeds and obedience, out of His grace and generosity. "Precious" (ghaliyah): of lofty value.
