عن البَرَاءِ بنِ عازبٍ رضي اللهُ عنهما، عن النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «المُسْلِمُ إِذَا سُئِلَ في القَبرِ: يَشهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهَ وأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رسولُ اللهِ، فذلك قولهُ تعالى: يُثَبِّتُ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ في الحَياةِ الدُّنيَا وفي الآخِرَةِ [إبراهيم: ٢٧] متفقٌ عليه.
Al-Bara' ibn Azib (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When the Muslim is questioned in the grave, he testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. That is the meaning of His words, the Exalted: 'Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in the life of this world and in the Hereafter' [Ibrahim: 27]." Agreed upon.

أنّ سُؤال القبر حق، وهو من أمور الغيب التي لا نعرف كيفيتها إلا بما ورد في الوحي. أن الله تعالى يُلهم المؤمن في قبره النطق بالحجة المنجية، وهي الشهادتان.
The questioning in the grave is true, and it is among the matters of the unseen whose nature we know only through what has been revealed. Allah, the Exalted, inspires the believer in his grave to utter the saving testimony, which is the two testimonies of faith.
