عَنْ أَنسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبيَّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «اللهُمَّ لا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الآخِرَةِ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, there is no life but the life of the Hereafter." Agreed upon.

تحقير عيش الدنيا لِما يعرض له من التكدير وسرعة الفناء. أن العاقل لا يفرح بما يسره من الدنيا لانقضائها، وأن يكون اهتمامه بما يفرح به في آخرته، لأن حياتها هي الدائمة الأبدية.
The belittling of the life of this world because of the disturbance and swift extinction that befall it. The sensible person does not rejoice at what gladdens him of the world, because of its passing away, but rather his concern should be with what will gladden him in his Hereafter, for its life is the everlasting and eternal one.
