عن أبي هريرة رضيَ اللهُ عنه، عنْ رسولِ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «لو كان لي مِثلُ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا، لَسَرَّني أنْ لا تَمُرَّ علَيَّ ثَلاثُ لَيَالٍ وَعِندِي منهُ شَيءٌ، إلَّا شَيءٌ أُرْصِدُهُ لِدَينٍ» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I had gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would please me that not three nights should pass while I still have any of it, except something I set aside for a debt." [Agreed upon]

أُرْصِدُه لِدَينٍ: أدّخره لأقضي به ديْنًا.
"I set aside for a debt": I store it away to repay a debt with it.

الحث على المسارعة في الإنفاق في وجوه الخير. المسلم يخطط ويهتمّ بوفاء الدَّيْن وأداء الأمانة. جواز استعمال "لو" عند تمني الخير. زهد النّبيّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم وكرمه، فقد كان ينفق إنفاق من لا يخشى الفقر.
Urging haste in spending on avenues of good. The Muslim plans for and is concerned with the repayment of debt and the discharge of trusts. The permissibility of using "if only" (law) when wishing for good. The asceticism and generosity of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), for he would spend like one who has no fear of poverty.
