Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the best of people's livelihoods is that of a man who holds the reins of his horse in the cause of Allah, flying upon its back; whenever he hears an alarm or a call for help, he flies upon it, seeking death or being slain wherever it is to be expected. Or a man who is among a small flock of sheep on the peak of one of these mountains or in the bottom of one of these valleys, establishing the prayer, paying the zakah, and worshipping his Lord until certainty (death) comes to him, having no dealings with people except in good." Reported by Muslim.
