عَنْ أبي هُريرةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «لا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ يَوْمَ القِيامةِ إِلى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزارَهُ بَطَرًا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "On the Day of Resurrection Allah will not look at the one who trails his lower garment out of arrogance." [Agreed upon]
الشرح · explanation
لا ينظر: أي نظر رحمة. إزاره: وهو ما يستر به النصف الأسفل من الجسم، والمراد هنا الثوب. بطرًا: تكبُّرًا وخُيلاءً.
Will not look: that is, a look of mercy. His lower garment (izar): that with which the lower half of the body is covered; what is meant here is the garment. Out of arrogance (bataran): out of pride and vanity.
