عَنْ أَنسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «يسِّرُوا وَلا تُعَسِّروا، وَبَشِّرُوا وَلا تُنَفِّرُوا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make things easy and do not make them difficult, give glad tidings and do not drive people away." Agreed upon.
الشرح · explanation
يسروا : سهلوا لا تعسروا: لا تضيقوا ولا تشدّدوا. بشروا: حببوا الناس بالخير وأخبروهم به. لا تنفروا: ولا تباعدوهم عن الخير وتصرفوهم عنه.
Make things easy (yassiru): facilitate. Do not make them difficult (la tu'assiru): do not constrict or be harsh. Give glad tidings (bashshiru): endear good to people and inform them of it. Do not drive away (la tunaffiru): do not distance them from good or turn them away from it.

واجب المؤمن أن يحبب الناس إلى الخير ويرغبهم فيه، ويحذر من صرفهم عنه أو تنفيرهم بالقسوة عليهم والغلظة معهم. بيان يسر الإسلام في تكاليفه، ويظهر هذا التيسير لنا تلقائيًا إذا امتثلنا الأحكام والأخلاق الشرعية فهي ميسّرة سهلة مستطاعة. ليس من الدين التشدد والأخذ بالأصعب والأشد مما قد يفضي إلى الحرج والتضييق.
It is the duty of the believer to endear good to people and encourage them towards it, and to beware of turning them away from it or driving them off through harshness and severity towards them. A clarification of the ease of Islam in its obligations; this ease becomes apparent to us naturally when we comply with the legal rulings and the morals of the Shariah, for they are facilitated, easy, and within our capacity. It is not part of the religion to be excessively strict and to take the most difficult and severe course, which may lead to hardship and constriction.
