عَنْ جريرِ بنِ عبدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قال: سمعتُ رسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يقُولُ : «مَنْ يُحْرَمِ الرِّفْقَ يُحْرَمِ الخيْرَ كُلَّهُ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever is deprived of gentleness is deprived of all good." Narrated by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
من يحرم الرفق: من لا يوفق له ولا يكون من عادته، بل يكون فيه العنف والقسوة. يحرم الخير كله: أي يخسر كل الخير الناشئ عن الرفق، لأنّ الله يعطي على الرفق ويثيب عليه، فمن فقده فقد كل ثوابه.
Whoever is deprived of gentleness (man yuhram al-rifq): whoever is not granted it and it is not his habit, but rather harshness and severity are found in him. Is deprived of all good (yuhram al-khayr kullah): that is, he loses all the good that arises from gentleness, because Allah grants for gentleness and rewards for it, so whoever lacks it loses all of its reward.

فضيلة الرفق وأهمية تربية النفس عليه. على المسلم أن يتحرّى الرفق في أموره كلّها كي لا يحرم من بركته وخيره. الجزاء من جنس العمل، فلما حرم الناس من خيره ورفقه بهم، كان مستحقًا لأن يُحرم من الخير.
The virtue of gentleness and the importance of training the soul upon it. The Muslim must seek gentleness in all his affairs so that he is not deprived of its blessing and good. Recompense is of the same kind as the deed: since such a person deprived people of his good and gentleness towards them, he deserved to be deprived of good himself.
