عَن أبي ذرٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قال: قال لي رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «يا أبا ذَرٍّ، إِنِّي أَرَاكَ ضعِيفًا، وإِنِّي أُحِبُّ لكَ ما أُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِي، لا تَأَمَّرنَّ على اثْنيْنِ ولا تَوَلَّيَنَّ مالَ يتِيمٍ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Dharr, I see that you are weak, and I love for you what I love for myself. Do not take charge over two people, and do not take charge of the property of an orphan." Reported by Muslim.

ضعيفًا: المقصود لا قدرة لديك على القيام بأعباء الولاية، وذلك لما كان عليه من صفات شخصية لا تناسب حال الإمارة وما تحتاج إليه من شدة وحسم وحزم. لا تَأَمَّرنّ: أي لا تقبل أن تكون حاكمًا ولا أميرًا. ولا تولَّينّ: أي لا تكن وصيًا ولا ترض ولايةً.
"Weak": what is meant is that you have no capacity to bear the burdens of authority, on account of personal qualities that do not suit the state of leadership and the strength, decisiveness, and firmness it requires. "Do not take charge": that is, do not accept to be a ruler or a commander. "Do not take charge of": that is, do not be a guardian nor accept any custodianship.

معرفة النّبيّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم بأصحابه وصفاتهم وتوجيههم للأصلح لهم. تحريم طلب أو قبول الولاية لمن علم من نفسه الضعف عن القيام بأعبائها. الحثّ على حفظ مال اليتيم وعدم الأكل منه بغير حق أو تضييعه. حرص الإسلام على المصلحة العامة في أن لا يتولى إلا من كان قويًا قادرًا على أعباء الولاية.
The Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) knowledge of his Companions and their qualities, and his directing them to what is best for them. The prohibition of seeking or accepting authority for one who knows himself to be too weak to bear its burdens. Encouragement to safeguard the property of the orphan and not to consume it unlawfully or squander it. Islam's concern for the public interest, that none should hold authority except one who is strong and capable of bearing its burdens.
