عَنْ أبي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ لي رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «لا تحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ المعْرُوفِ شَيْئًا وَلَوْ أَنْ تَلْقَى أخَاكَ بِوَجْهٍ طَلْقٍ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do not belittle any good deed, even that you meet your brother with a cheerful face." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
لا تَحقِرنَّ: لا تُهِنْ قَدرَه عندك، أو لا تَستقلَّه. المعروف: هو المستحسن في الشرع وفي عُرف النفوس السوية. طلق: متهلل بالابتسام والبِشْر.
"Do not belittle": do not undervalue it in your eyes, or consider it too little. "Al-maruf (good)": what is deemed good by the Sacred Law and by sound human nature. "Cheerful (talq)": beaming with a smile and a friendly expression.

طلب التوادِّ والتحابِّ بين المؤمنين، وطلاقة الوجه وابتسامته هي التعبير الظاهر عمّا في القلب من محبة وودّ. التحذير من احتقار شيء من أعمال البرّ ولو كان في الظاهر يسيرًا. يدخل في عموم هذا الحديث ما لا يُحصى من الأعمال الصالحة التي ينبغي على المسلم أن يحرص على فعلها بنفسه، أو الإعانة على فعلها. استحضار نيّة الخير في كل عمل مُعين على عدم احتقاره.
It calls for mutual affection and love among the believers; a cheerful, smiling face is the outward expression of the love and affection in the heart. A warning against belittling any act of goodness, even if it appears trivial outwardly. The general import of this hadith includes countless righteous deeds that a Muslim should be keen to perform himself, or to help others perform. Keeping a good intention present in every deed helps one not to belittle it.
