عَنْ أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أنَّ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «مَنْ كانَ يُؤمنُ بِاللهِ واليَومِ الآخِرِ فَلْيُكرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤمِنُ بِاللهِ واليَومِ الآخِرِ فليصِلْ رَحِمَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يؤمِنُ بِاللهِ وَاليوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلْيَقلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ ليَصْمُتْ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain the ties of kinship. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say something good or remain silent." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

الحث على إكرام الضيف وهو من خُلُق الأنبياء والصالحين. صلة الرحم من كمال الإيمان والمراد بهم الأقرباء، وصلتهم تكون بإكرامهم، وزيارتهم، ومساعدة المحتاج منهم. التحذير من الخوض في الكلام الباطل كالغيبة والنميمة وغيرها. للإيمان آثار وثمار تدل عليه كالإحسان إلى الجوار، وإكرام الضيف، وطِيب الكلام، ولزوم السكوت عندما لا ينفع الكلام.
The encouragement to honor the guest, which is among the character traits of the prophets and the righteous. Maintaining the ties of kinship is part of complete faith; those meant are relatives, and maintaining ties with them is through honoring them, visiting them, and helping those among them in need. A warning against indulging in false speech such as backbiting, talebearing, and the like. Faith has effects and fruits that indicate it, such as kindness to neighbors, honoring the guest, good speech, and keeping silent when speech is of no benefit.
