عَنْ جابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قال: سَمِعتُ رسولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يقولُ: «إِذا دخلَ الرَّجُلُ بيْتَهُ، فَذَكَرَ الله تعَالى عِنْدَ دُخُولهِ وعِنْدَ طَعامِهِ قال الشَّيْطانُ: لا مبيتَ لَكُمْ ولا عشَاءَ، وإذا دخَلَ فَلَم يَذكُرِ اللهَ تَعَالى عِنْدَ دخُولِهِ قالَ الشَّيْطَانُ: أَدركتُمُ المبيتَ، وإِذا لَم يَذْكُرِ اللهَ تعَالى عِنْد طَعامِهِ قالَ: أَدركْتُمُ المبيتَ وَالعَشاءَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a man enters his house and mentions Allah the Exalted upon his entering and upon his eating, the devil says: You have no lodging and no supper. And when he enters and does not mention Allah the Exalted upon his entering, the devil says: You have obtained lodging. And when he does not mention Allah the Exalted upon his eating, he says: You have obtained lodging and supper." Reported by Muslim.

وجوب ذكر الله عند دخول البيت وَعَنْد الطعام. تمكُّن الشيطان من المبيت في البيت والمشاركة في الطعام عند ترك ذكر الله تعالى. ذكر الله عند الطعام ودخول البيت دليل على حضور ذكر الله في القلب وهو معين على دوام الطاعة والبعد عن اتباع الشيطان في ضلاله.
The obligation of mentioning Allah upon entering the house and at the meal. The devil's ability to lodge in the house and share in the food when the remembrance of Allah the Exalted is omitted. Mentioning Allah at the meal and upon entering the house is a sign of the presence of the remembrance of Allah in the heart, and it aids in the continuance of obedience and in keeping away from following the devil in his misguidance.
