عَنْ مُعَاذِ بنِ أَنسٍ رضيَ اللهُ عنهُ قَالَ: قالَ رسُولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «منْ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا فقال: الحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَني هَذَا الطعام، وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلا قُوّةٍ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ، والتِّرْمِذِيُّ وقال: حدِيثٌ حسنٌ.
Mu'adh ibn Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats food and then says, 'Praise be to Allah who has fed me this food and provided it for me without any power or strength on my part,' his past sins will be forgiven." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan (good) hadith.
الشرح · explanation
من غير حول منّي: أي من غير حيلة ولا قدرة منّي. من ذنبه: أي الصغائر، لأن الكبائر تحتاج إلى توبة خاصة.
"Without any power on my part": that is, without any device or ability of my own. "Of his sins": meaning the minor sins, for major sins require specific repentance.

استحباب حمد الله تعالى في آخر الطعام مع التضرع إليه سبحانه، لأنّه هو المنعم والرزّاق ذو القوة المتين. بيان سعة كرم الله تعالى، بتكثير أجر الحامد لله تعالى على نعمه، وذلك بتكفير ذنوبه.
It is recommended to praise Allah the Exalted at the end of a meal while humbling oneself before Him (Glorified is He), for He is the Bestower of blessings, the Provider, the Possessor of firm strength. A demonstration of the vastness of Allah's generosity, in multiplying the reward of the one who praises Him for His blessings by expiating his sins.
