عن وَحْشيِّ بنِ حربٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ أَصحابَ رسولِ الله صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالُوا: يا رسولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ ولا نَشْبَعُ! قالَ: «فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْترِقُونَ؟» قالُوا: نَعَمْ، قال: «فَاجْتَمِعُوا عَلى طَعَامِكُمْ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فيهِ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ.
Wahshi ibn Harb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Messenger of Allah, we eat but are not satisfied. He said: "Perhaps you eat separately?" They said: Yes. He said: "Then gather together over your food and mention the name of Allah over it; it will be blessed for you." Reported by Abu Dawud.

أنّ الاجتماع للطّعام والتسمية عند الأكل سبب لحصول البركة فيه وحصول الشبع من أكله. حرص الإسلام على الجماعة في كلّ الأمور حتى في الطعام، لأنّها سبب للخيرات.
Gathering together for a meal and mentioning Allah's name when eating is a cause for attaining blessing in the food and being satisfied by it. Islam's keenness on togetherness in all matters, even in eating, because it is a source of good.
