عن أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: نَهَى رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم أَنْ يُشْرَبَ مِنْ فِي السِّقاءِ والقِرْبةِ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking from the mouth of a waterskin or a water bag. Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
من فِي السقاء: أي من فم الإناء الجلدي وهو فتحة الشرب منه. القربة: وعاء يوضع فيه الماء مثل السقاء، وقد يكون كبيرًا أو صغيرًا، بينما يغلب استعمال كلمة السقاء فيما كان صغيرًا.
"From the mouth of the waterskin": that is, from the opening of the leather vessel through which one drinks. "The water bag" (qirbah): a container in which water is kept, like the waterskin; it may be large or small, whereas the word siqa' is more commonly used for a small one.
