عَنْ أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رسُولُ الله صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «لاَ يشْرَبَنَّ أَحدٌ مِنْكُمْ قَائمًا، فَمَنْ نَسِيَ فَلْيَسْتَقِئْ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let none of you drink while standing; and whoever forgets, let him make himself vomit." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
نَسي: أي شرب قائمًا ولو عامدًا، والمراد بنسي ترك. فَلْيَسْتَقِئْ: فليُخرج من جوفه ما شربه قائمًا.
"Forgets": that is, drinks while standing, even if deliberately; what is meant by "forgets" is (rather) neglecting or omitting. "Let him make himself vomit": let him expel from his belly what he drank while standing.

الأمر بالتَّقَيُؤ لمن نسي وشرب قائمًا، لكن هذا الأمر نُسِخ حكمه بالأحاديث السابقة الدالةِ على جواز الشرب قائمًا وبما استَقرَّ عليه الأمر من فعل الصحابة رضي الله عنهم، وقيل إنّ الأمر بالتقيُّؤ للاستحباب.
The command to vomit for one who forgets and drinks while standing; however, the ruling of this command was abrogated by the preceding hadiths indicating the permissibility of drinking while standing and by the settled practice of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). It has also been said that the command to vomit is (only) for recommendation.
