عنْ أبي قتادةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «سَاقِي القَوْمِ آخِرُهُمْ شُرْبًا». رواهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وقالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صحيحٌ. وأخرجه مسلم مطولًا.
Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who serves drink to a people is the last of them to drink." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith. Muslim also related it in a longer form.

أنَّه من الأدب أن يكون من يقدم شرابًا أو يوزع فاكهةً لجماعةٍ هو آخر من يأكل أو يشرب. أنَّ من يقوم على شأن من شُؤون الناس وعلى مصلحة من مصالحهم أنّه يقدمهم على نفسه، ويؤثرهم على نفسه.
That it is part of good etiquette for whoever serves a drink or distributes fruit to a group to be the last of them to eat or drink. That whoever is entrusted with some affair of the people or with one of their interests should give them precedence over himself and prefer them above himself.
