عَنِ ابنِ عبَّاسٍ رضيَ اللهُ عنْهُما: أنَّ رسُولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمُ البَيَاضَ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيابِكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيها مَوْتَاكُمْ» رواهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ، والتِّرْمِذِيُّ وقالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صحيحٌ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wear white among your garments, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.

البياض: أي الثياب البيض.
White (al-bayad): that is, white garments.

أن لبس الأبيض من الثياب سنّة، يؤجر عليها الإنسان إذا قصد تطبيق السنّة. الثوب الأبيض خير من غيره من جهة أنّه إذا اتسخ أدنى اتساخ ظهر فيه بخلاف الثياب الأخرى فإنها إذا اتسخت لا يظهر فيها.
Wearing white garments is a sunnah, for which a person is rewarded if he intends to apply the sunnah. The white garment is better than others in that when it becomes even slightly soiled, the dirt shows on it, unlike other garments, in which soiling does not show.
