عَنْ أبي هُريرةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «لا ينْظُرُ اللهُ يَوْمَ القِيَامةِ إِلى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطرًا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection, at the one who trails his lower wrap out of vanity." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
لا ينظر: أي نظر رحمة. إزاره: وهو ما يستر به النصف الأسفل من الجسم، والمراد هنا الثوب. بطرًا: تكبُّرًا وخُيلاءَ.
"Will not look": that is, a look of mercy. His lower wrap (izar): that with which the lower half of the body is covered; what is meant here is the garment. Out of vanity (bataran): out of pride and arrogance.

A clarification of Allah's hatred for every manifestation of pride and arrogance.
