عَنْ أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «إذا قاَمَ أحَدُكُمْ منْ مَجْلسٍ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أحَقُّ بِهِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you gets up from his seat and then returns to it, he has the greater right to it." Reported by Muslim.

إذا سبق الإنسان إلى مجلس في مسجد أو سوق كان أحق به، فإذا قام منه لعذر لا يسقط حقه فيجوز له أن يقيم من جلس فيه. من سبق إلى مباح فهو أحقّ به.
If a person is the first to reach a seat in a mosque or a marketplace, he has the greater right to it; and if he gets up from it for some reason, his right is not forfeited, so he may have whoever sat in it get up. Whoever is first to reach something permissible has the greater right to it.
