عَنْ جابرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عنْ رسولِ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «إذَا رَأى أحَدُكُمُ الرُّؤْيا يَكْرَهُها، فلْيبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلاثًا، وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ باللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ثَلاثًا، ولْيَتَحوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كانَ عليْهِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times, seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times, and turn over from the side on which he was lying." Reported by Muslim.

وليتحول عن جنبه الذي كان عليه: يعني إن كان نائمًا على جنبه الأيسر يتحول إلى الأيمن، والعكس.
"And let him turn over from the side on which he was lying": that is, if he was sleeping on his left side, let him turn to the right, and vice versa.

استحباب التحول عن جنبه الذي كان عليه حين يرى الرؤيا التي يكرهها، وذلك تفاؤلًا بتحول الحال من الرؤيا القبيحة إلى الرؤيا الحسنة. تخصيص الشّمال بالنّفث أو البصاق إشعارًا إلى جهة الشيطان وإلى كل ماهو مستقذر ومكروه.
It is recommended to turn over from the side on which one was lying when one sees a dream that one dislikes, as an optimistic gesture that one's state will change from the ugly dream to a good one. Singling out the left side for the light spitting, as an indication of the direction of Satan and of everything foul and disliked.
