عَنْ أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «لا تَدْخُلُونَ الجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا، وَلا تُؤمِنوا حَتَّى تحَابُّوا، أَوَلا أدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إذا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحاَبَبْتُمْ؟ أفْشُوا السَّلامَ بَيْنَكُمْ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not direct you to something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread the greeting of peace among yourselves." Reported by Muslim.

أنّ الإيمان لا يكتمل إلّا بالمحبة بين المسلمين. إفشاء السلام من أسباب جلب المحبة والمودة بين المؤمنين، ومن أسباب إزالة الوحشة. أن الذي يُسلِّم على الناس تميل إليه القلوب وتحبه.
Faith is not complete except through mutual love among Muslims. Spreading the salam is a means of bringing about love and affection among the believers and of removing estrangement. The one who greets people with the salam wins their hearts' affection and love.
