عَنْ أبي ذرٍّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ لي رسولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «لا تَحقِرَنَّ مِنَ المعْرُوفِ شَيْئًا وَلَو أنْ تلقى أخاكَ بِوَجْهٍ طليقٍ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do not belittle any act of kindness, even that you meet your brother with a cheerful face." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
لا تَحقِرنَّ: لا تُهِنْ قَدرَه عندك، أو لا تَستقلَّه. طليق: وفي رواية طلق، أي مبتسمًا مستبشرًا منبسطًا.
"Do not belittle": do not diminish its worth in your estimation, or do not regard it as insignificant. "Cheerful" (taliq): in another narration talq, that is, smiling, glad, and genial.

الحثّ على طلاقة الوجه والبشر عند اللقاء، وخاصّة إذا كان بعد غياب أو قدوم من سفر. الحثّ على عمل الخير ولو كان يسيرًا وعدم التقليل منه. يدخل في عموم هذا الحديث ما لا يُحصى من الأعمال الصالحة التي ينبغي على المسلم أن يحرص على فعلها بنفسه، أو الإعانة على فعلها. عدم الاستهانة بأي عمل ما دام من وجوه الخير.
Encouragement to meet others with a cheerful, bright face, especially after an absence or a return from travel. Encouragement to do good, even if it is small, and not to make light of it. Included within the generality of this hadith are countless righteous deeds that the Muslim should be keen to perform himself, or to help others in performing. Not underestimating any deed, so long as it is one of the avenues of good.
