عَنْ أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قبَّلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ الحسنَ بنَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُما، فقالَ الأقْرَعُ بنُ حَابس: إنَّ لي عَشَرةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلتُ مِنهُم أحَدًا فقالَ النَّبيُّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لا يُرْحَمْ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed al-Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both). Al-Aqra' ibn Habis said: "I have ten children, and I have never kissed any of them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

استحباب تقبيل الأطفال تلطفًا بهم، وأنّ ذلك عنوان الرحمة في القلب، وعدم تقبيلهم عنوان قسوة في القلب. رحمة اللّهِ عز وجل للعباد مرتبطة بتراحمهم فيما بينهم.
It is recommended to kiss children out of affection for them; that is a sign of mercy in the heart, while not kissing them is a sign of hardness in the heart. Allah's mercy (the Mighty and Majestic) toward His servants is linked to their showing mercy to one another.
