عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: سمعتُ رسولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ يقولُ: «ما منْ مسلمٍ يعودُ مسلمًا غُدْوَةً إلَّا صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ سبعونَ ألفَ ملكٍ حَتَّى يُمْسِي، وإنْ عادهُ عَشِيَّةً إلَّا صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ سبعونَ ألفَ ملكٍ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ، وَكَانَ لَهُ خَرِيفٌ في الْجَنَّةِ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وقالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ.
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no Muslim who visits a sick Muslim in the morning but that seventy thousand angels invoke blessings upon him until evening, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels invoke blessings upon him until morning, and he will have a harvest in Paradise." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan (good) hadith.
الشرح · explanation
غدوة: ما بين صلاة الصبح وطلوع الشمس. صلّى عليه: استغفر ودعا له بالرحمة. عشية: آخر النهار، والمراد بذكر الغدوة والعشية عموم الأوقات. الخرِيفُ: الثَّمَرُ المَخرُوفُ، أَيِ: المُجتَنَى.
"Ghudwah (morning)": the time between the dawn prayer and sunrise. "Invoke blessings upon him": they seek forgiveness for him and supplicate for mercy for him. "Ashiyyah (evening)": the end of the day; the mention of morning and evening is intended to signify all times. "Al-kharif (harvest)": the gathered fruit, that is, the picked crop.
