عَنْ صخْرِ بنِ وَدَاعَةَ الغامِدِيِّ الصَّحابيِّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عنْهُ: أَنَّ رسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لأُمَّتي في بُكُورِها» وكَان إِذا بعثَ سَرِيَّةً أَوْ جَيْشًا بعَثَهُمْ مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ، وَكانَ صخْرٌ تَاجِرًا، وَكَانَ يَبْعثُ تِجارتَهُ أَوَّلَ النَّهارِ، فَأَثْرَى وكَثُرَ مالُهُ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ والتِّرْمِذِيُّ وقالَ: حديثٌ حَسَنٌ.
Sakhr ibn Wada'ah al-Ghamidi, the Companion (may Allah be pleased with him), reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, bless my Ummah in its early mornings." And when he sent out a detachment or an army, he would send them at the beginning of the day. Sakhr was a merchant, and he used to dispatch his merchandise at the beginning of the day, so he prospered and his wealth increased. Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan (good) hadith.
الشرح · explanation
بارك: اجعل البركة وهي الزيادة والنماء. بكورها: هو الذهاب أول النهار. سرية: الطائفة من الجيش يبلغ أقصاها أربعمائة. فأثرى: صار ذا غنى.
"Bless": place in it barakah, which is increase and growth. "Its early mornings": setting out at the beginning of the day. "Detachment": a party of the army numbering at most four hundred. "So he prospered": he became a man of wealth.

استحباب الخروج للسفر من أول النهار سواء كان يوم الخميس أو غيره. الحرص على التبكير والاستفادة من أول النهار في العمل والتجارة وسائر المصالح وعدم تضييعه في النوم وما لا ينفع. النشاط وحيوية العمل ووفرة الإنتاج يحصل في أول النهار وبه تحصل البركة. فضل وقت الإبكار على غيره لما فيه من الخير وتقسيم الأرزاق.
The recommendation of setting out for travel at the beginning of the day, whether on a Thursday or otherwise. Eagerness to rise early and make use of the beginning of the day in work, trade, and all beneficial pursuits, and not wasting it in sleep or in what brings no benefit. Vigor, vitality of work, and abundance of production occur at the beginning of the day, and through it barakah is attained. The superiority of the early-morning hour over other times, for the good and the apportioning of provisions it contains.
