عَنْ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ حَكِيمٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ نَزلَ مَنْزِلًا ثُمَّ قالَ: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى يرْتَحِلَ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ ذَلِكَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Khawlah bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever alights at a place and then says: 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' nothing will harm him until he departs from that place of his." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
كلمات اللّهِ: قيل المراد بها القرآن. التّامّات: التي لا يدخلها نقص ولا عيب. من شرّ ما خلق: أي ممّا هو ذو شر من الإنس والجنّ والحيوان.
"The words of Allah": it is said that what is meant is the Qur'an. "The perfect (al-tammat)": those which no deficiency or defect can enter. "From the evil of what He has created": that is, from whatever possesses evil among humans, jinn, and animals.
