عَنِ ابنِ عبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قال: قال رسولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «إنَّ الَّذِي لَيْسَ في جَوْفِهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ القُرآنِ كالبيتِ الخَرِبِ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the one who has nothing of the Qur'an within him is like a ruined house." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
ليس في جوفه: أي لا يحفظ من القرآن شيئًا. كالبيت الخرب: أي الخالي من الخير والسكّان.
"Nothing within him": that is, he has memorized nothing of the Qur'an. "Like a ruined house": that is, empty of good and of inhabitants.
