عَنْ عبدِ اللّهِ بنِ عَمْرِو بنِ العاصِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «يُقَالُ لِصاحبِ الْقُرَآنِ: اقْرأْ وَارْتَقِ، وَرَتِّلْ كَما كُنْتَ تُرَتِّلُ في الدُّنْيَا، فَإنَّ منْزِلَتَكَ عِنْد آخِرِ آيةٍ تَقْرَؤها» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ، والتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an: 'Recite and ascend, and recite distinctly (rattil) as you used to recite distinctly in the world, for your station is at the last verse you recite.'" Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
صاحب القرآن: أي حافظه، أو حافظ بعضه، الملازم لتلاوته مع التدبر لآياته والعمل بأحكامه والتأدب بآدابه. اقرأ وارتق: اقرأ واصعد إلى درجات الجنّة أو مراتب القرب. ورتل: أي اقرأ في الجنّة لمجرد التلذذ، إذ لا تكليف ولا عمل هناك.
"The companion of the Qur'an": that is, its memorizer, or the memorizer of part of it, who keeps to its recitation with reflection upon its verses, action upon its rulings, and adherence to its etiquette. "Recite and ascend": recite and climb to the degrees of Paradise, or to the ranks of nearness. "And recite distinctly (rattil)": that is, recite in Paradise purely for delight, since there is no obligation or work there.
