عَنْ أبي موسى الأشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أنَّ رسولَ اللّهِ صلّى اللّهُ عليه وسلّم قالَ لهُ: «لَقَدْ أُوتِيتَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُودَ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ. وفي رِوَايةٍ لِمُسْلِمٍ: أنَّ رسولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ لهُ: «لَوْ رَأَيْتَنِي وَأَنَا أَسْتَمِعُ لِقِرَاءَتِكَ البارِحَةَ».
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You have indeed been given one of the flutes (mizmar) of the family of Dawud." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim). In a narration of Muslim: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Had you seen me while I was listening to your recitation last night..."
الشرح · explanation
أوتيت: أعطيت. مزمارًا: أي صوتًا حسنًا ولحنًا طيبًا في قراءة القرآن. آل داوود: المراد داوُود نفسه تعظيمًا له. لو رأيتني: جواب " لو " محذوف والتقدير لسرك ذلك.
"You have been given (utita)": you have been granted. "A flute (mizmaran)": that is, a beautiful voice and a pleasant melody in reciting the Qur'an. "The family of Dawud (al Dawud)": what is meant is Dawud himself, out of honoring him. "Had you seen me": the response to "had" is omitted, the implied meaning being "it would have delighted you."

استحباب تحسين الصوت بالقرآن ضمن حدود قواعد التجويد، لأنّ ذلك يزيد القرآن حلاوة ونفوذًا إلى القلوب، أما إذا كان في ذلك خروج بالقرآن عن وضعه فهو حرام.
The desirability of beautifying the voice with the Qur'an within the bounds of the rules of tajwid, because that increases the Qur'an in sweetness and in penetration into the hearts; but if it involves taking the Qur'an out of its [proper] form, it is forbidden.
