عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بنِ عفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْـسَنَ الوُضُـوءَ، خَرَجَتْ خَطَايَاهُ حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَظْفَارِهِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution well, his sins depart until they come out from beneath his nails." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
فأحسن الوضوء: أي توضأ وضوءًا مشتملًا على جميع السنن والآداب. خرجت خطاياه: المراد بها الذنوب التي هي دون الكبائر.
"performs ablution well": that is, he performs ablution comprising all its sunnahs and etiquettes. "his sins depart": what is meant by them are the sins that are lesser than the major sins.
